Before I start, I have to mention I don't know beans about writing...... BOOO!..........ok, bad way to start.
We are looking for writers and correspondents who will be able to do this 12 times better than I could.
As you have perused the Buy Vi site, you have undoubtedly come across unique features and articles, that cause you to take the trip down the rabbit hole, and find out more.......
This particular journey is about the precious black liquid that revolves the world. I'm not talking about the oil crisis. I'm speaking of coffee. Coffee has the unique feature of being a stimulant and some would say a dependent, but in the same sip is a relaxant. The majority of people have tried coffee at least once in their lives. Others thrive on over 6 cups a day. And for some, like myself, the daily ritual of one or two cups of coffee a day is grown into our lifestyles.
Coffee originated in Ethiopia, spread to the Middle East, was brought to Europe by the Turks, perfected by the Italians, sought after by the French, brought to North America by one man, and now over 10 billion cups a year are drunk around the world....half of those in the morning. As I don't have expendable time and money to travel the world to sample the various forms of coffee, I've started my own quest for some of the best coffee up and down Vancouver Island. Believe me, there are a lot more people that know way more about coffee than I do. This is just my opinion and experience, and I hope to learn a lot more.
I think I fit somewhere into the popular group who aren't aficionados, but know that coffee from
Tim Hortons isn't quite the best coffee.
In my travels, I hope to tell you of hidden locations, the art of coffee, meet the owners behind this trade, and all this time, let you know of some fantastic coffee creations made by local people.
One thing you may have noticed, is that there is a soccer theme involved in this article. Not only am I a giant soccer fan, but I think it's fitting that coffee and soccer are enjoyed by so many people around the world. You could in fact tie in this slogan. Soccer/Coffee....the beautiful game....the beautiful bean
(coined here first....send cash to buy this slogan)
My adventure starts with a bit of research..... Web? Maybe... but how about the good ol'
Yellow Pages...... HOLY COW!!!!
No wonder coffee is one of the biggest industries in the world.
There are a lot of coffee shops and bars...and I’m only starting in Victoria.
Apparently my adventure isn’t going to be as quick as “171 Starbucks in a day guy”
